Blue Bell ice cream’s vice president announced that starting this week, they are re-entering retail markets

After months of restructuring and a massive recall following three deaths linked to listeria contamination in their products, Blue Bell ice cream is back in stores again.We announced last week that the company had resumed shipment, and this week they have confirmed that Blue Bell is now back on shelves “in select markets on a limited basis.”Right now the ice cream will only be available in Texas and Alabama, and health officials in both states have been notified.
“Over the past several months we have been working to make our facilities even better, and to ensure that everything we produce is safe, wholesome, and of the highest quality for you to enjoy,” said Ricky Dickson, vice president of sales and marketing for Blue Bell, in a press statement. “This is an exciting time for us as we are back to doing what we love… making ice cream!”
After the deadly scandal that rocked the small ice cream company, Blue Bell vigorously revamped their safety procedures, getting new equipment, thoroughly testing each pint of ice cream, and sending samples to independent laboratories.
In the following months, Blue Bell will slowly resume production throughout the South, ending in Arkansas, Florida, northern Louisiana, and Mississippi.
